Entangled Growth, part of the Fragmented Harmony collection, explores the rapid progression of technology alongside the enduring cycle of organic life. Constructed from obsolete computer parts—motherboards, modems, and circuit boards—this upward-reaching structure evokes both growth and decay. At its center, a living plant emerges from a small vessel of water, defying the lifeless rigidity of discarded electronics.
The plant’s vitality contrasts with the mechanical remains, prompting reflection on the impermanence of both technological advancement and natural growth. Synthetic spiderwebs stretch across the piece like remnants of time—a sign of neglect and decay. These webs further connect the work to ideas of obsolescence and recycling, where discarded objects are redefined and reclaimed.
The sculpture draws attention to our ever-accelerating relationship with technology: its speed, its disposability, and the paradox of progress. Yet, amidst this tension lies the potential for renewal. Entangled Growth imagines a future where remnants of the past become fertile ground for new possibilities, blending the organic and the synthetic into a hauntingly beautiful harmony.
